For six generations the Bogle family have farmed Clarksburg, but it wasn’t until 1968 that their grandfather Warren Bogle truly put Clarksburg on the map.
Warren Bogle was the first to plant grapes in the Sacramento Delta region, and for the past 50 years, his family has followed in his footprints.
The Bogle family prides itself on creating quality and affordable wines, for every table. This is what their customers across the world love about them, and why they were named ‘Winery of the Year’ by Wine Enthusiast in 2019.
When I worked with the Bogle Team, I was copywriting and conceptualizing their monthly content calendars for their social media channels: Bogle Traditional, Phantom Wines, and Juggernaut Wines. We would plan for daily posts, sometimes sharing 2-3 times a day per weekend events and capturing on-the-fly content.
We worked closely with the Bogle Marketing team to promote their brand pillars, special events, cross-promote channels, celebrate their announcements, as well as advertise their social media campaigns across platforms.
The Bogle Traditional brand is extremely close to the family, not only because it is their namesake, but because it is the foundation of which their history is blended with the wine. Their heritage is deeply rooted in their vineyard, and their passion for quality wines shared amongst the entire company.
Every two weeks I would collaborate and brainstorm monthly themes in inspiration for Franklin to shoot ahead of schedule, and then write copy for every day of the week, event, promotion, and campaign. If needed, I would work with our design team to develop concepts for social media graphics.
At the end of every month, I’d pull custom social reports with data, trends, and feedback on top-performing posts and share them back with their marketing team. I’d also help to manage their online community on a daily basis.
Working with the Bogle brands was one of the most exciting, and knowledgeable experiences I had. I learned so much within marketing and advertising with their team, running special campaigns such as the Bogle Pizza Contest Sweepstakes, the Big Five Sweepstakes, and the Phantom Apparation Sweepstakes.
I also learned a great deal about wine, how each varietal is grown, harvested, crushed, barreled, and blended.
For being a Bogle wine fan for so many years, it was a privilege to work with their team and contribute to their message and success. My greatest achievement while working with them was getting their Instagram following over 10K.
Next time you’re in your neighborhood wine aisle, grab a bottle of Bogle. I promise the Winery of the Year label is well-deserved.
